Heavenly Code

We’ve all seen it around our centers. Big posters on walls, small framed ones, on different kinds of decorations, some book covers, a lot of places. Healer-nims are thought about it’s meaning in healers school. I remember when I was advised to learn it by heart. It seemed almost impossible. But I did it and now it kind of comes naturally. Another advice was to chant it when you feel challenged. This one I experienced myself. In times of great stress it would just come very naturally to chant. And after a while I would feel calmed and once again grounded. What is interesting is that when I try to use my brain I usually can’t remember the sequence. But when I just chant it’s all there.

Power Brain Method

Here am I again on the same subject. But I just felt I had to share this. It’s been a couple of months since I had the training.Last weekend I had an uncomfortable experience with some people. It kind of shook me up pretty bad because I was (at least in my mind) trying to do something good and trying to do it the right way. Others did not feel the same way and I was left with this anger inside that was directed to all and specially towards me for being so naïve. It just kept going and going and going and finally I set down to figure out what can I do. The problem was that my hands were tied, basically I couldn’t do anything and feeling of helplessness was making me so angry. Then I tried one of the exercises from the training. And to my complete amazement it works with no problem. No I did not forget what happened but all of the emotional charge that was attached to this memory vanished. I felt cool and free.Thank you!

Energy

When I joined Dahn Yoga I used to feel tired all the time. I working 40 hours a week and that seemed like soooo much. I never could get enough sleep. It felt like I was running out of time. Now I work roughly 55 hours a week, I try to be at the center at least couple of times a week, I study for my master degree and I feel good. Yes, I feel tired sometime before going to bed but it’s like healthy tiredness, makes you fall a sleep right a way and wake up refreshed in the morning. The energy work I do in the class just kind of spills over into my regular life making it so much easier and more fun.

Longevity Walking

It was  fun! As always everything run smoothly from warm-up to various presentations, lesson and practice. It was my first time as a staff member and that was an unusual experience. The focus shifted from what will be coming next to what will we be doing next. Just looking at all those people who came to be part of it was making me feel happy. There is some talk about doing the same lecture again, maybe in spring.

Dahn Yoga: Be kind to your body and mind

For years, there was a fundamental disconnect between the way we perceived the brain and our physical body. While we knew there would be inevitable deterioration in our physical prowess as we aged, there was also an understanding we could mitigate the worst effects by exercising and paying attention to our diet. Our brain, however, was placed in a different category. After 40, we were told, it embarked on a slow and steady decline, and there was little we could do to stave off the decay. Luckily, we now knoww that particular theory of our mental life span is fundamentally flawed: The brain can grow and renew itself throughout our lives.

To be sure, as we age, there are some changes in our mental capacities, particularly in our short-term memories. and a portion of our mental trajectory is determined by genetics.

But scientists have documented that our most important organ is fundamentally “plastic.” That is, it reconfigures itself in response to our behavior. And if we make a point of nourishing our mental, physical, and spiritual selves, we can make real strides in protecting our mind as we grow older.

Shim Sung Benefits

Whenever people ask me about my Shim-Sung training I tell them it was a training that changed my life. And it was. I would just like to be a little more specific about it. Here is one of the very specific changes. At one of the post trainings, my Instructor asked us to watch ourselves and come up with one habit we would like to change. What I figured out was that whenever I felt uncomfortable I would hide behind “Oh I don’t speak English well”. And that was very annoying and crippling. The only way I could figure out for improving my language skills was reading. And it was hard at first and was and still is somewhat slow but I kept it going for almost three years now.

For a while I was thinking about going for a Masters Degree and finally, 6 months ago, I started seriously working on that. One of the requirements was TOEFL test, which is testing your language skills. I went through a couple of examples and was quite anxious about it. Anyway I went for it. My score was 116 out of 120. Was I proud of myself! And it was all thanks to Shim-Sung and Dahn Yoga.

Intesinal excercise

My whole evening was planned out for my Mom’s birthday and yet I had a huge headache. So, on my way home, I’m thinking how huge headache I have. Then I start figuring that if I have a headache there must be excess energy in my head, right? And how could I, especially while driving, lower that energy to my body? So, I started doing the only thing that came to mind, intestinal exercises. By the time I got home my headache was gone and my mood was perfect.
