Before I started Dahn Yoga training, I had high blood pressure. After one month, my blood pressure has decreased.
Internally, I feel more relaxed and the stresses in my life bother me less. Smiling more throughout the day makes me feel better.

I came to Dahn Yoga to prepare my body for major surgery. I am a cancer survivor and I was preparing for an operation that would place tissue expanders in my body. Kristen from Dahn Yoga by would massage and manipulate the cancerous area to ensure good blood flow. One side of my chest had radiation so the Doctor was not sure how pliable the skin would be. After I had my surgery, my surgeon told me how healthy the skin was.
Unfortunately, I suffered from a frozen shoulder after the surgery, but thank god Kristen was able to help me through the whole experience. Kristen gave me deep tissue massage which helped with pain management and healing. I credit Kristen and Dahn Yoga with my speedy recovery. I highly recommend Dahn Yoga for anyone and if you are suffering from any illness or pain, I feel confident that the wonderful and caring staff at Dahn Yoga will be able to help you stay healthy and bring relief to pain you may be experiencing.

This has been a very enlightening year for me. Last May I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Since then I have had 2 surgeries and 16 chemotherapy treatments. Currently, I am receiving chemo treatments.
Before any surgery I knew I had to increase my immune system so I put together a plan. I started acupuncture; received care from regional staff and center assistants and healers. I felt so much love and energy. At one time I remember feeling as though my body was lifted off the ground. This was a point of change for me. My goal was to get my body, mind and spirit in the best possible condition before I started this journey. This is a journey I am not walking by myself. I have been so blessed with strong support and love from friends, family and my Dahn Yoga family.
I remember sitting in the doctor’s office while he listed all the things that could go wrong during surgery. My friend who came with me took notes and all we thought about was how much weight I would lose as a result of the chemo therapy. We really didn’t pay too much attention to any of the options other then the best case scenario. My focus was to stay positive. Turn around any information from the doctors to be positive in nature. Unfortunately the surgery was not what I hoped for. The doctors were unable to do anything but biopsy the tumors and close me up. It was very upsetting. All that I had practiced and trusted now had to be used to pull myself up and start all over again.
In the beginning, during the chemo treatments, the most difficult thing for me was to close my eyes. I could not focus on anything. My mind darted from here to there with nothing important. It was only when they gave me benyadral that I could doze off and even then I would fight it. It was almost as though I was afraid to close my eyes and let time go by. Thoughts would come into my head. I had so much of nothing to say.
My friend who came along with me would have me breathe along with her, she would whisper in my ear to visualize the chemotherapy as a white light going into my body to heal me. This was when I began to use the tool of visualization. There were so many times the ugly voice screamed in my head “you have cancer, you are going to die.” In my heart, in my soul I knew that I was not going to die. Yet, it is hard work to keep that voice at bay. Everyday I use what I have learned from having been in a 12 step program and the principles of Dahn Yoga.
I feel as though this has been my first year in Dahn Yoga. Even after 4 years, I feel like a beginner. I finally took initial awakening. It was so enlightening. It’s only now that I understand and listen to my body and focus on my breath during training an during my daily living.
I have given myself a daily routine: morning bowing, Un Ki Sum Bub and Dahn Mu Do practice. I practice what I learned at Power Brain Method training. All of which has helped to change my energy. All the training and help from loved ones has helped me stay in the moment, which is a 24hr job. Although there are people who come into my life with negative energy, I work hard to keep my positive thinking. Visualization is a magnificent tool to use at this time.
I have always struggled with the fact that I did not have a vision. I now have a vision to take care of myself and to share my hope, strength and experience with others who are in the fight for their life with cancer.
I am so very grateful and blessed

Two years ago, at 60 years of age and with urgent physical problems, I started an intensive Dahn Yoga program. This resulted in my regaining my health in several months, which convinced me to get training in how to heal family and friends, which in turn led me into a new life stage as a holistic healer and peace maker. Throughout this time, I experienced yoga classes, private healing sessions, weekend workshops, training programs in Arizona and Korea, and conversations with Dahn Yoga mentors. Having benefited so significantly in terms of my health, happiness and peace, I am most grateful to Dahn Yoga for helping me grow.
While always a skeptic, which usually undermined previous attempts at achieving growth, my Dahn Yoga journey has proven to me the integrity and generosity of Dahn Yoga instructors, and the quality and effectiveness of Dahn Yoga methods. At 62 years, the combined effects of many Dahn Yoga experiences have been to strengthen and energize my body, clarify and calm my mind/emotions, and activate and elevate my spirit/soul. Indeed my life has been transformed.
