A recent scientific inquiry has suggested that practicing yoga may be able to reduce an individual's levels of chronic discomfort.
Persistent pain is a problem that yoga has helped alleviate for thousands of years, and Dahn Yoga includes a number of methods for redirecting the body's energy away from aches. Now, recent scientific inquiry has suggested that practicing yoga may be able to reduce an individual's levels of chronic discomfort.
A report published in the journal Pain analyzed the findings of previous research into yoga's effect on persistent physical distress.
The paper determined that the ancient, holistic mind-body system appears to have a favorable impact on the pain from a number of chronic afflictions, including lower back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and migraines.
The authors noted that future directions in yoga research may take into account the practice's effects on the social and psychological aspects of pain.
Many Dahn Yoga members have reported dramatic improvement in body aches and pain management after practicing deep breathing, meridian channeling, tai chi and brain wave vibration, which is a form of moving meditation.
Hundreds of Dahn Yoga tutorials exist in urban and rural communities across the U.S.
