Attitude to Pain

What I noticed recently is that my attitude to pain has changed. I used to be frightened with it so I would make my body tense and very stiff. And off course I would take a bunch of painkillers.
Now I try to figure out if there is anything I can do and then act on it. But if there is not, then I just focus on breathing and relaxing. It seems to me that the pain subsides a lot quicker then before and it doesn’t leave as much damage.
